Improving Lives Through Free Medical Care in Rural Nigeria
OMIWA Foundation is an international non-profit dedicated to delivering free, life-changing medical care to underserved communities in rural Nigeria.
Founded in 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Foundation was born out of a critical need. Government-mandated shutdowns hit the most vulnerable populations hardest—particularly those in remote communities with little to no access to healthcare. OMIWA Foundation emerged as a direct response to that crisis, and we’ve been working ever since to close the healthcare gap for indigent populations.
We believe that continued neglect of these communities not only deepens suffering locally—it threatens global health. Our work is a call to action: to reach those in need before it’s too late. With the support of donors, volunteers, and partners, we’re building a healthier future—one outreach at a time.

Mission
To improve the health and wellness of indigent rural communities in Nigeria by providing free medical services to all.
Vision
Our vision is to strengthen healthcare delivery infrastructure while addressing the immediate needs of underserved populations. We coordinate the efforts of stakeholders to deliver basic, essential care—intervening early to prevent suffering and restore lives.
News & Features
As a community-based organization, we focus on bringing critical healthcare to areas that need it most. Our volunteer medical teams—consisting of physicians, general surgeons, dentists, nurses, physical therapists, and support staff—travel directly to rural communities to provide care.
In our first year, we reached six communities in Aniocha Local Government Area of Delta State, offering screenings and treatment for conditions that were widespread but untreated:
Hypertension
Diabetes
Nutritional counseling
Intestinal parasites
Vision care
Pain management
Prescription medications
Since then, we’ve expanded to additional local government areas and broadened our services. With the generous support of donors, we now also provide:
General and specialized surgeries
Pre-natal care
HIV testing
Pediatric immunizations
To date, we’ve served over 5,000 patients—including hundreds of children. Each outreach is a step toward health equity, community stability, and global wellbeing.
